love to hear your thoughts about some ideas. I'm hoping to use the
time to give you something you can use (if you have a website), so
your reactions will help me in choosing material.
1. SEO Do It Yourself Basics: This one is taken from a module I do
for MCSC a couple times a year to help budding entrepreneurs get their
websites set up to be search engine friendly and maybe even
competitively visible. The focus is on basic website structure and on
page content, with a few suggestions for free tools you can use. If
you do not program your own site, you may need some webmaster help to
do a few of these things, but the content changes are usually things
you really can do yourself.
2. Local Search: Even if you don't have a website, your local
business can be visible online, and it should be. Changing search
technology is making it more important for local businesses to get
involved and stay involved in their online profiles. Many of you
probably have a Google Local listing, but there are lots of other
places to get local visibility. Includes a few best practices tips
for getting and maintaining local listings (not as easy as it seems it
would be).
3. Why Twitter, Why Now? This one is a little of the vision thing,
but I think it's useful to stay on top of trends just so you'll
understand how the Internet is evolving. And nothing is evolving
faster these days than Twitter. Intro to Twitter and how to use it
basics, plus a few thoughts on how it might help to promote your
business. (yes, I do have a Twitter account, but no, I am not at all
active in maintaining it -- that doesn't change my belief it is a
disruptive technology -- I think this could be a game changer)
Do these sound good/make sense for you? Are they all wildly off the
mark? Ideas to add to any/all of them? Especially, let me know which
one you rank #1. Thanks!

Glenn, I would be very interested in basic SEO. But all topics sound great.
